What A Day!
Holy what a day!! Work was very hectic- the "parcel express company" (that I won't publically mention) that runs from our gas station caused the most trouble. I do not honestly know how it runs... soo many headaches, and we do our best for being just a little depot.. I am SO thankful I am not officially employed by them, but by my gas station... oh, and the scanner was broken for the FORTH day in a row, customers were cranky as usual, the car wash kept breaking, and we arrived this morning to orange paint-balls broken everywhere (come to find out, that was compliments of our own night shift...). Finally 3 o'clock comes, and I am OFF tomorrow! Wahoo. Or so I thought. Well, when I get home, Darcy's car which he had parked out front was gone. Come to find out, there was a huge accident in front of my house. His car had been smashed into- it got pushed into the next block, and somehow the STOLEN car that hit it ended up in my Landlord's front lawn.

One of the cars hit the light post that now has quite the dent in it, now has a major slant, and is coming out of the ground on one side. My Landlord's weren't home either, so we learned everything from the neighbours, and Darcy gets the accident report tomorrow. Apparently, the male driver of the solen car was hitting his female passenger and was having a fit while driving. They must have been going quite fast, cuz the car is smooshed. Once (IF) I figure out how to put pictures on here, I'll post some of the car. We went to the impound lot tonight to see it and get stuff out of it. I am SO GLAD no one was in it, and that Edith's (Landlord) son was not outside playing (the man apparently also tried fleeing, and ran through the backyard, where someone caught him).
One thing about this whole eposide that I find EXTREMELY ANNOYING is that even if it is not the vehicle owner's fault that it gets towed, the owner of the towed vehicle STILL has to PAY for the tow and the impound lot fees. And these are not sheap. As if. It is a good thing its not my car, I'd be more wild than I am now... O, and the man that took us to the car said that cars that are found after they've been stolen automatically go to that lot until the owner is notified. Once the owner is notified, they have to PAY to get their recovered stolen vehicle out, the towing fees that got it there, and the storage fees for however long it was there. That just does NOT seem right to me. Another unnecessary expense. Not even two weeks ago I woke up to find the back window of my car smashed in, and as if that wasn't bad enough, I also found big, muddy footprints front the front fender, up the front window, across the roof, which led to the smashed window. Much money later, it is finally fixed. And the only non-broken glass I could find for my OLD car that was actually in this province is tinted :) I liked that. But I don't like fact that when I could finally wash the car, I noticed the scratches on the hood in two spots that too closely resemble the muddy footprints that were once there. GRR! Like I have said before, some people in Calgary (and it seems to be many) have NO respect for other people's property, especially their vehicles. I don't know where to park anymore.
Anyway, finally I can eat supper (almost ready) and relax for a bit. Darcy got me "The Best and Worst of American Idol" DVDs today, so we may watch some of that... I'm not the hugest Idol fan, but I love the auditions where people make a fool of themselves, etc so I think it will be funny. :) So that's all she wrote today... There never seems to be a dull moment here...
