Can't get in the habit...

I have many habits, but apparently one them is NOT remembering to write regularly in my blog, let alone daily.. I will try to get better...
All I know is that I love reading my friend's blogs- it makes me feel less far away from them, and I like knowing what's going on in their lives... IF I can do this regularly, maybe it will serve this purpose to my friends as well. I really don't know anything about blogging tho', like how to post pictures, create links, etc., etc.
First a little update: I am 26 years old, and have been living in Calgary, Alberta for almost three years now. Man, time flies. I have been here long enough to miss my family, friends, and the ocean like CrAzY! It has been insanely hot here the past few weeks, and people here do nothing to escape from the heat, at least nothing like what we do to escape it in Nova. It just makes me think of the ocean more. Also, there are SOO many people out West who have never seen an ocean!
Anyway, back to the update... Pretty much since I moved here I have been working full-time for Husky and Mohawk, a job that I don't like very much, and one that has very little to do with my area of education, but it pays the bills and my boss is very supportive of my current schooling: I'm working on my Masters (Family Counseling) and need quite a bit of time off to travel to Saskatchewan to go to classes one week at a time. Different sort of set up, I know. Anyway I like the program, but am not so sure it is exactly what I want to do... All I know for sure is that Iwill end up working kids in some way; I still miss my daycare class SOOO much (Hi to all my kiddies in N.B.) (I worked at a daycare in Riverview, N.B. for 3 years or so while doin' my B.A....) and right now I am getting set up to volunteer at the brand new Alberta Children's Hospital when it opens in September; then I may have a better chance of them hiring me fulltime when I am finished school (or before that even.. ;) I WISH!!!).
So, aside from too many hours of work, and way, way too many papers, I do not do a lot to keep busy around here. I have a wonderful boyfriend, Darcy. We've been together for about a year and a half now. So when I am not busy with work and schoolwork, I am often hanging out with him. We do a lot of walking, hiking (Canmore is our favorite so far this summer), camping with friends IF we both have time off from work at the same time which rarely happens, watch a lot of movies, go rafting (oh, yeah, that is ONE way people out West know how to cool off.. SOOOO many people every hot day can be seen on blow-up rafts floating down the river here, and it is SO, SO fun :) And sometimes scary!! But I love it). We would like to get to Banff sometime soon, I have only been there once and it was in the winter.
What else?!?! hmm... Well, I hope to be finished school this time next year, and then I will have my internship to do, it would just be too much to do that right now on top of school and work.
My family is mostly in Nova Scotia, with the exception of my sister who is in Ottawa. She and her boyfriend are getting married in about a year lucky ducks (in case you haven't gathered by now, no I am not married, and no, I have no kids). She will soon be finished a degree at Carleton (sorry for spelling?? Amy...) University. My oldest younger brother Jonathan got married one year and one week ago today, soo many of us were waiting for that to happen; they'd been friends for yrs... and I miss him so much since he moved back to Nova. It was great seeing him so much more than we got used to when he was living in SK and I in Calgary... I even got to see him play his last Clipper hockey game :) And, last but not least, my baby brother Timothy is not such a baby anymore... He is soon turning 16 and he is about 6"9 or 10... he is SO TALL. I am not exactly tiny, but beside him I look pleasantly small :) He is very into basketball, and doing very well! Good Luck in B.C. Wow, this update is sure turning into a novel, and I thot I had nothing to say... Anyway I should go; If any o my old friends end up finding this, drop me a line!! :) I'd love to hear from ya's and I hoep all's well. I am sure I could write more to update, but the more I (remember to) write in this, the more this update can be added to... ;) My life is not dull, that's for sure (tho sometimes I wish it was...)
